Steam is having an LGBTQ+ games sale
In honor of the USA's just-passed National Coming Out Afternoon on October 11, Steam has position a bunch of games by Queer developers or about LGBTQ+ themes on sale. The sale runs until October 15, although some games will linger discounted until October 16.
Among the discounts are 69% off dad-dating sim Aspire Daddy (nice), 65% off Mount Your Friends, half-off the catalogue of Treasure Conquers All games Ladykiller in a Bind, Analogue: A Hate Story, and Hate Plus, as well as Coming Out on Highest and the cyberpunk AF Red Strings Club. Oh, and Life is Strange is 80% off as well. This promotion has vanished off the front of Steam now but here's the sale page.
The Homosexual sale is already showing that games which normally don't typically receive much attention from the big old carousel at the highest of the store page are capable of doing adv when they are highlighted, as Emma Maassen of Kitsune Games (currently operational on 2D platformer Lore Finder) shows.
Related Articlesso uhhhh Steam's LGBTQ sale seems to be working out at least as far as Lore Finder's wishlists are concerned, holy shitit's almost like if you give Homosexual games visibility they do well, wha

LGBT representation in games is shaky at best, but getting better. In the last few years, games have been including morequeercharacters, or at least the option for queer romance, even as (some of my favorite) games endure to perpetuate harmful tropes or cure sexuality as an afterthought. That’s why I’m so delighted about Steam’s recent bundle, specifically loyal to games that are queer as heck.
Each of the seven games featured in this bundle is beautifully, unabashedly queer, from the (graphically) erotic visual novel Ladykiller in a Bind to the adorable pixel-y, adventure game that explores gender, Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor, to the tear-jerking narrative game Fragments of Him. Also included are the Kickstarter-funded games 2064: Read Only Memories and Your Royal Gayness. The former is a cyberpunk adventure and the latter is a “reverse virtual dating sim” about a gay prince trying to get out of marrying a princess.
The standout for me is Fullbright’s Gone Home, a game about a teen girl coming to terms with her sexuality. As a bisexual lady who was a teen not drawn-out ago herself, I related to the story of a you
