UNIGO LGBT Scho APPLICATIONS OPEN NOVEMBER 1ST. Point Foundation was established in 2001 to nurture the next generation of LGBTQ leaders. Point Foundation empowers promising LGBTQ students to achieve their entire academic and leadership potential – despite the obstacles often put before them – to make a significant impact on society. By identifying and supporting these scholars, Point hopes to provide a greater level of acceptance and respect within future generations for all persons, regardless of sexual orientation, gender statement, or gender identity. We honor our scholars - their leadership, their acumen, their early involvement in lesbian, gay, bisexual, gender diverse and queer causes, and their pledge to form the world a fairer and better place for all. Point Scholarships are awarded on a "last provider" basis. Point fills in the gaps and provides funds not provided by other scholarships, grants, loans, work/study programs, etc. It is the responsibility of those selected as Signal Scholars to secure as much outside funding as possible. Point is not intended to be, and cannot be, the sole source of support because ther Study abroad can be a defining moment in any student’s educational journey, one filled with opportunities for growth, numerous realizations, and many more meaningful experiences. To support LGBT students who are ready to hold on the doubt of studying abroad, many organizations, institutions, and associations possess established study abroad scholarships to specifically provide financial assistance to LGBT students. Every student deserves the chance to study abroad alongside their peers and experience all the world has to offer, and these scholarships are just some of the opportunities that contain been put in place to arouse LGBT students to take the leap and study abroad.
