The American counterpart to Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger and second Control Rangers series to be produced by Hasbro since acquiring the license from Saban Brands accompanying Beast Morphers, Dino Fury follows the eponymous team as they fight to stop the villainous Void Knight and the Sporix Army.
Granted their powers by the ancient and alien Knights of Rafkon, the Dino Fury roster consists of the Rafkonian pair Zayato (red) and Aiyon (gold), as well as humans Ollie Akana (blue), Amelia Jones (pink), Javi Garcia (black), and Izzy Garcia (green) – the last of whom is revealed to be the series’ first same-sex attracted Ranger.

The confirmation of Izzy’s lesbian self can be seen in Dino Fury’s 13th episode, The Matchmaker.

The confirmation of Ari and Remi’s relationship was a triumphant one for fans, only mildly soured by the notion that it could only happen in an expensive hardcover collection. Thankfully, that relationship was just the start of Power Rangers finally embracing queer characters after so long.
In 2021 Power Rangers Dino Fury debuted on Nickelodeon and, after nearly 30 years with endless straight relationships, the personality of Izzy Garcia made her triumphant debut as the first out gender non-conforming Ranger in the TV show’s history along with her girlfriend, Fern. The two are absolutely adorable together and there’s nothing subtle about their association. Izzy gives Fern kisses on the cheek, the two go to prom together, and Izzy directly refers to Fern as her girlfriend. It was a giant leap forward for the franchise after endless years of subtext, missed opportunities, and outright homophobia.
But Izzy being gay wasn’t always a sure thing.
“Making Izzy a member of the LGBTQ+ society, was the writers’ intention from the beginning of her character development,” explains Dino Fury Executive producer Simon Bennett.
However, Izzy actress Tessa Rao stated in an interview with Co
I was eleven when Control Rangers first aired in 1993, and I came out as bisexual when I was 14. I am now 39 and openly gay. I never figured we would possess an openly gay ethics, let alone a Ranger on Power Rangers, because of the moral guardians and whatnot. Most of the time, the Dominance Rangers show is meant to be geared towards children ages 3-11. Sometimes, that changes. In Vacuum to Time Force were suppose to be for children 7 to 11, while Wild Force seemed to be for Children 3-6. Anyway, I digress. The following is a SPOILER (for Dino Fury), so skip this if you do not long to know.
In the episode "Matchmaker," which aired in France but might gas on Nickelodeon on October 9th. Javi thinks Izzy has a crush on a boy but finds it out it is actually on a fellow athlete Fern (who previously appeared in episode "Winning Attitude"). Some fans previously guessed Izzy was supposed to be gay. Some of those fans even saw her removing the skirt as evidence of her being gay. I didn't think so because it could have all just been a coincidence and also I didn't think Power Rangers would dare to do this. So I am content to say I was wrong, I didn't look for it to be so. Power Rangers Dino Fury Wins 2022 Kids & Family Programing GLAAD Award For Inclusion Of First Mainline Lesbian Ranger Izzy Garcia

Receiving the award during a May 6th New York ceremony for GLAAD’s 33rd annual Media Awards – a previous ceremony was held in Los Angeles on April 2nd – the Nickelodeon (season one) and Netflix (season two)-produced Western counterpart to Japan’s Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger announced their win on Twitter, tweeting from the official series account, “The cast, crew, writers and show team of Authority Rangers Dino Fury is delighted to accept the 2022 #GLAADawards for Kids & Family Programing.”
“Power Rangers promotes acceptance of all and celebrates our differences,” the crew added alongside an image of Izzy and her girlf
Power Rangers Dino Fury may have not made history by introducing an episode that confirmed Green Ranger Izzy Garcia as Homosexual, but the series has definitely made a splash with queer fans of the community.
The series, Power Ranger Dino Fury, has been airing on Nickelodeon since February, 2021. Fans have speculated that Izzy Garcia, the Leafy Power Ranger that posthaste shot to being a fan-favourite when she ripped the green skirt off her uniform, has been part of the Gay community for a while now. But the reveal hadn’t ever confirmed it, apart from a scant head nods and subtext.
However, now that’s changed thanks to Dino Fury’s most recent episode. In this episode, titled “The Matchmaker”, viewers watched with bated breath as Izzy came out as a member of the Homosexual community by holding hands with another character, Fearne. The two imply that they’re going to travel on a date, and walk off together whilst the other members of the Dino Fury squad watch on and speak about how cute they are together. We Devote to see it!
After the episode aired, fans took to Twitter to appreciate Simon Bennett, the executive producer of Power Rangers Dino Fury, for bringing LG
