Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui Offers Support to Struggling LGBT+ Members: ‘Your Truth is Not Shameful’
On Monday darkness (Feb. 5) Fifth Harmony’sLauren Jauregui took to Twitter to console and present advice to struggling members of the LGBT+ community.
It all began after Jauregui first shared a tweet that showed users responses to the question “What will you execute if your son comes out as GAY.”
With some users responding that they would kick the child out of the house or much worse if they were gay, Jauregui, who identifies as bisexual, stood up to the hateful social media publish tweeting by writing, “This is such a disgusting present of toxic masculinity & a immersive ignorance of the expression of human sexuality.”
She continued her statement saying, “It is a spectrum that has no shame. It will be painful but it will steer you to your true family. Anyone who can hope this on something they created is deeply troubled,” to which Twitter members of the LGBT+ community began to speak out and share their stories.

As Fifth Harmony continue to grow into powerhouses through their artistry, the band memers have also transformed into political advocates. Whether it’s speaking out against racism, xenophobia, or sexism, the women of 5H preserve it real. In addition to these matters, Normani Kordei, Lauren Jauregui, Dinah Jane and Ally Brooke are some of their generation’s most prominent allies for the LGBTQ community. “I am a attracted to both genders Cuban-American woman and I am so proud of it” will arguably be one of the most memorable quotes said by the outspoken Fifth Harmonizer, Lauren Jauregui. In a poignant — and scathing — open letter calling out voters who elected Donald Trump as president, the singer revealed her bisexuality to Billboard and the rest of the world.
This year, Halsey — who also identifies as bisexual — featured Jauregui on her HopelessFountainKingdom chop “Strangers,” a love ballad between two women. The song peaked at 100 on the Billboard H
For fans, shipping Lauren Jauregui and Camila Cabello while the two were in Fifth Harmony might contain been fun and games. But Lauren said it actually played on a harmful stereotype about gay people and caused her a lot of stress.
On Becky G's podcast, En La Sala,Lauren said the rumors made her “disgustingly uncomfortable" because it portrayed her as a homosexual aggressor, trying to “turn” a straight girl.
“People consideration Camila and I were into each other and that made me so uncomfortable. Like, disgustingly uncomfortable, because I was gay but she was not and it made me sense like a predator,” Lauren, who identifies as bi-curious, said. "It made me feel like a predator because the types of clips people would lay together and the types of stories that people would write and the type of stuff, I was always the aggressor and I was always the one turning her. I was always the one who was the 'masculine' energy in the scenario and it made me very uncomfortable because that is not how I identify."
Even though there was nothing romantic between Lauren and Camila, Lauren said the constant speculation has made her self-conscious about her interactions wit

"There’s this notion that artists are supposed to be dumb and frivolous," she added. "I completely disagree with that. Madonna, Bob Marley, John Lennon -- they didn’t talk about bull----."
ABC News reached out to Epic Records about Jauregui's claims, but didn't immediately hear back.
Jauregui said she's a bit uncomfortable with the word "bisexual" because it's too limited.
"Even the fact that I labeled myself makes me mad sometimes, because dude, I’m just a free liveliness
